Design Intern


What we're looking for

The German Doblin team is in search of talented Design Interns for our growing teams in Hamburg, Germany. We are interested in hearing from people with hands-on experience in Human-Centered Design and prototyping methods - ideally trained in ethnographic user research and with a wide interest in different businesses.

About your role

The ideal Design Intern studies interaction, product, or environments design and is capable of making digital and/or physical prototypes. The Design Intern will work collaboratively, creatively, and flexibly within multidisciplinary teams of Doblin and Deloitte Consulting LLP. Candidates should embrace the ambiguity needed to create new offerings and the ability to work across a range of projects, industries and mindsets combining design, tech and business. Design Internships at Doblin are typically 3-4 months in duration, are full-time and are compensated. Start dates are flexible.

Once here you will ...

  • Work with our project teams along our design process supporting them during user research, ideation, concept development, prototyping and testing
  • Build empathy with users, interpret and communicate research insights and their implications for new offerings
  • Hep design physical and/or digital prototypes
  • Help to communicate our projects to clients and the rest of Deloitte through storytelling

What you should bring

  • A passion and curiosity for learning about the world, human behavior, and the motivations that lie beneath the surface to create solutions that fit into people's lives
  • A practiced ability to transform research observations into critical insights and actionable recommendations
  • Interest in collaborating and working on multidisciplinary teams with designers and non-designers
  • Comfort with ambiguity and experimentation, and the ability to quickly dive into a new domain or process
  • Strong and compelling written and spoken communication in German and English

Basic requirements: You are ...

  • Pursuing a degree in design, design strategy human-centered design or equivalent
  • Have technical skills in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Invision, Power Point and others
  • Are passionate for and have expertise in the innovation process and the role that both strategic and formal design can play in the process
